Partake with the Predators
Many animals get their food by hunting, catching and eating other animals. Have a nice breakfast at the zoo, and then hear about how some of the zoo’s animals are perfectly adapted to be effective predators. After the chat, children will create a Model Magic sculpture of their favorite predator and do a similarly themed activity sheet to explore even more!



Family fun, the Freedom First "Scoops" Ice Cream truck, Ken & Jayne's Hot Dog stand, and a special visit by the Heroes of Star City at 12pm. The Festival is Free, but the "cost" of admission is school supplies to benefit the Botetourt County Schools

CreekFest 2018 will have live music from Daniell Pollock, Medicinal Americana,GOTE, and The Bell Hornets. Food vendors are Mountain Grill,Master Sergeant BBQ, Lette's Eat, ,Blue Cow Ice Cream Co. and A & A Kettle Corn Company! Special beer releases will be happening throughout the day! Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $6.
This is an afternoon scavenger hunt loaded with history, entertainment, and cold beer, winding through the streets of downtown Roanoke. All proceeds will support Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation's advocacy and education goals for historic structures in and around our city.
Your ticket entitles each participant to drink and food specials at participating venues, as well as a chance to win great local gifts through a scavenger hunt and trivia contest that will test your knowledge of local history!
Registration begins at Blue 5 Restaurant downtown at 2pm and continues until 4pm. Participants will receive a free pint glass as well as a map of the downtown and a copy of the scavenger hunt form. Teams of four are encouraged to register together for the best deal, and we are offering up to $10 off ticket prices with group registration.

We invite you to attend this fantastic event which supports the programs provided by the Bedford Community Christmas Station to low income Bedford County families year round. Tickets are available in advance for $10 at BCCS on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 9 to 5, at the Bedford Welcome Center & at Goose Creek Studio. Tickets will be available at the door for $15. With the return of our favorite auctioneer, Albert Epperly, the live auction is sure to be exciting. To give our guests a bit more room, we’ve expanded the displays to both the Sara Bratten & Terrace Galleries. Once again there will be light hors d’oeuvres & cash bar, provided by Sister to Sister Catering this year. Thanks to the extreme generosity of our area artisans & businesses, the silent auction will include even more items than last year!

Originally proceeds were going to be donated to Smiles Forever Animal Rescue , with some discussion the proceeds are going to donated to Justina Meade to help with cost to take care of her animals while she is unable to take care of them due to accident. Justina is an amazing lady and she ALWAYS puts the animals first and tries her best to help anyway she can. Its time we take care of our own fellow rescue people.

Elmwood ParkThe United States Navy Band's nationally renowned bluegrass ensemble, Country Current, will perform live at a FREE concert in downtown Roanoke's outdoor Elmwood Park amphitheater.
The 75-minute concert starts at 6:30 PM, and food and beer will be sold on site. Bring your family and friends, grab some chairs, and meet us for a free concert in Elmwood Park!

Annual Labor Day Flea Market this year. It is held each year on labor day weekend Friday through Monday. There are several hundred vendors set up at the Hillsville VFW and along highway 58 in Hillsville, VA. Be apart of where it all began and come visit us at the VFW
